Statement by Government Communications Office Director

The State of Qatar has long maintained that its government news agency website was hacked on 24 May and fabricated quotes published. The information published in the Washington Post on 16 July 2017, which revealed the involvement of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and senior Emirati officials in the hacking of Qatar News Agency, unequivocally proves that this hacking crime took place.


An Official Source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: the Perpetrators of the Electronic Piracy against Qatar News Agency website will be prosecuted

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the website of Qatar News Agency (QNA) has been hacked at 12: 14 am, on Wednesday morning (yesterday) and false and unfounded news has been posted on it, falsely attributed to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. The website has been brought under control nearly after four hours of the hacking crime. However, there are still some attempts to hack the social media accounts of the (QNA) and such attempts are being continuously resisted.



Prime Minister Meets British Prime Minister

London, March 27 - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Monday met U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May at the U.K. government headquarters, 10 Downing Street, on the occasion of the convening of Qatar-U.K. Business and Investment Forum in London and Birmingham.
