Citizen Services

Qatari citizens abroad can apply for new passport in case of Passport loss or expiry.

Beneficiaries of this service:

Citizens sent for treatment or study abroad, as for nationals residing outside the State, prior consent is required.

Service Procedures:

The expired or damaged passport will be sent by official post of the consular administration, then the mission receives new passport with old passport and hand them over to the citizen.

Terms and requirements:

  • Fill a form for a new passport and sign it by the concerned person, or their legal guardian if they were underage, the form should be stamped by the mission and signed from an executive consular.
  • Attach the original passport.
  • Attach (2) personal photos with grey background, photo size should be ( 4.8X 3.5 ).

Service fees:

(£25) Pound Sterling for expired passports

(£100) Pound Sterling for damaged/lost passports

Please note all passports must be collected from the Embassy.

A passage permit  can be issued to Qatari citizens to return to Qatar if they lost their passports.

            Beneficiaries of this service:

            Qatari citizens abroad.

            Service Procedures:

  • The Qatari mission abroad addresses the department of nationality and passports in the Ministry of Interior, after receiving the reply, a passage permit will be issued with an approval reference.
  • Passage permits are valid for three months from the date of issuance.
  • Passage permits are valid for only one entry to the State of Qatar only.

            Terms and requirements:

  • Register the loss of passport at the nearest police station abroad.
  • Copy of the passport or identity card showing the national number.
  • (2) Personal photos.

Service fees:

(£13) Pound Sterling

A passage permit for newly- born Qatari babies abroad.

Beneficiaries of this service:

            Qatari citizen’s newly-born babies only

Service Procedures:

  • The Qatari mission abroad addresses the department of nationality and passports in the Ministry of Interior, after receiving the reply, a passage permit will be issued with an approval reference.
  • Passage permits are valid for three months from the date of issuance.
  • Passage permits are valid for only one entry and to the State of Qatar only.

Terms and requirements:

  • Copy of the passport or identity card of the parents showing the ID number.
  • (2) Personal photos.
  • Copy of the birth certificate attested by the official authorities and by the Mission.

Service fees:

(£13) Pound Sterling

The mission of the State of Qatar can issue a general or private authorization.

  Beneficiaries of the service:

            Qatari citizens living abroad permanently or temporarily.

            Service Procedures:

  • Requires the citizen to attend personally to the consular official.
  • Print the information of the authorization on mission’s headed-paper.

            Terms and requirements:

  1. An authorization application is to be submitted to the Head of Mission after ensuring the validity of the information and that the applicant is in a normal state of mind.
  2. Elderly people and persons with special needs are exempted from appearing before the mission, instead the mission itself will visit them to complete procedures.
  3. A copy of the passport or identity card showing the their numbers should be attached with the application.

Service fees:

 (£25) Pound Sterling

This letter can be issued to Qatari citizens upon request.

            Beneficiaries of the service:

Qatari citizens in the UK. 

            Service Procedures:
The Embassy can issue 'To whom it may concern' letter  to Qatari Citizens regrading various issues including, loss of identification and regarding domestic workers who have runaway.

            Terms and requirements::

  1. A copy of the passport or identity card should be attached with the application.
  2. Provide a prove for residing outside the country, in case of travelling for medical treatment or study.

Service fees:

(£25) Pound Sterling

Transporting dead bodies of Qatari citizens back to the State of Qatar.

Beneficiaries of this service:

Deceased Qatari citizens outside the State of Qatar.

Service Procedures:

Relations of the deceased should notify the Medical Affair Attache  who will make all the neccessary arrangments for the transportation of the dead bodies. 

  • Relative of the deceased should notify the mission of the State of Qatar on the death of the citizen.
  • The mission will take necessary actions to transport the body to the State of Qatar.
  • Original passport and validated documents relating to the death should be submitted to the mission.

Terms and requirements::

  • The mission is to send by mail documents related to the deceased consisting of:
  • A copy of the passport.
  • A copy of the death certificate.
  • A copy of the post-mortem report (and any other documents).

The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme is open to Qatari nationals, who will require an ETA to travel to the UK on or after 15 November 2023.

 

Applying for an ETA

 

  • The application process is simple and fast. Most applicants will receive a response within three working days, with many receiving a result sooner.

     

  • The easiest way to apply for an ETA is through the ‘UK ETA app’.

    Individuals can also search for ‘Apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation to come to the UK’ on GOV.UK if they do not have access to a smartphone.

     

  • To apply for an ETA, individuals need to:
  • Pay a fee
  • Provide contact and passport details
  • Provide a valid photo, complying with our rules for digital photos on GOV.UK
  • Answer a set of questions
  • An ETA costs £10 and permits multiple journeys to the UK over two years or until the holder’s passport expires – whichever is sooner.

     

     

  • Frequently asked questions



    How will individuals know if they need to obtain a visa instead of an ETA?

  • If an individual intends to visit the UK for longer than six months, they will need to obtain a relevant visa. They may also need a visa for stays of less than six months for purposes other than visit, transit and some business visits.
  • Individuals can check if they need a visa by using the visa checking tool on GOV.UK.

 

    What will happen if someone is refused an ETA?

  • If an individual’s ETA application is refused, they will need to apply for a visa if they still wish to seek permission come to the UK.

     

    When should someone apply for an ETA? 

  • Individuals should apply for an ETA before booking travel to the UK.

     

    Can individuals appeal an ETA refusal decision? 

  • No. If an individual is refused an ETA and still wishes to seek permission to travel to the UK, they can apply for a visa

     

    Do children require a separate ETA? 

  • Yes. Children of all ages must have their own ETA. 

 

 

 

 

Foreigners in Qatar

Qatar’s Diplomatic and Consulate missions abroad receive applications of concern to previous residents who left Qatar permanently, through coordination with the directorate of consular affairs.

Beneficiaries of this service:

Previous residents who left Qatar permanently. 

Service Description:

Qatar’s Diplomatic and Consulate missions abroad will send the application to the directorate of consular affairs, which in turn 'll send it to the concerned department (Traffic department under Ministry of interior), and sends the reply to the mission after receiving it.

Terms and requirements:

  • Send a clear copy of the driving license to the directorate of consular affairs

An application to validate educational certificates issued in Qatar to residents who graduated from schools or universities of Qatar, in order to use these certificates for studies or work in other countries

Beneficiaries of this service:

Previous residents who left Qatar permanently. 

Service Description:

Qatar’s Diplomatic and Consulate missions abroad will send the application to the directorate of consular affairs, which in turn 'll send it to the concerned department (supreme educational council or the concerned university), and sends the reply to the mission after receiving it.

Terms and requirements:

  • Copy of the educational certificate

In order to obtain an Issuance of “Good Conduct”, also known as a, police clearance certificate from Qatar you must provide the consular section of the embassy with the following documents:

  • Fingerprint document from the MET police and certified from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in England or the foreign affairs office in your country

  • Four passport photos

  • A colour photocopy of the picture ID of your passports (old and new)

  • A colour photocopy of your residency permit in Doha

  • Fees of £78 – Postal Order or Cash Only

  • Prepaid self-addressed envelope, (special delivery or recorded delivery) to return your documents
  • Cover letter from yourself explaining the reason for requesting the police clearance.

    • the period of time that you worked in Qatar

    • your current address

    • your contact details

 

All documents are to be submitted to the Embassy legalisation department in London.

 

Please be advised that it takes at least three months to process this certificate.
