Prime Minister Meets British Prime Minister

London, March 27 - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Monday met U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May at the U.K. government headquarters, 10 Downing Street, on the occasion of the convening of Qatar-U.K. Business and Investment Forum in London and Birmingham.

            At the outset of the meeting, HE the prime minister and interior minister conveyed the condolences of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Prime Minister May on the victims of the attack that took place near the British parliament, and his wishes of speedy recovery for the injured as well as Qatar's firm stance and categorical rejection of violence and terrorism regardless of motives and causes.

            The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of developing and enhancing them on all fronts, particularly in the economic, trade and investment fields and in a way that achieves the mutual interests of both sides. In addition, the meeting reviewed the latest regional developments, especially the situation in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Libya.

            HE the prime minister and interior minister reaffirmed the depth of ties between Qatar and the United Kingdom and the existing cooperation between them to serve their mutual interests and promote efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.

            For her part, the British prime minister praised the level of existing ties between the two countries as well as Qatar's efforts and critical role in enhancing stability, peace and development in the region and across the world. After that, HE the prime minister and the British prime minister signed a memorandum of understanding between the governments of Qatar and the U.K. on the U.K.'s commitment to support Qatar in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
