HH the Emir Meets British Prime Minister

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met here Wednesday morning in his residence at Sakhir Palace in the Kingdom of Bahrain with British Prime Minister Theresa May and her accompanying delegation, on the occasion of the 37th session of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
During the meeting, HH the Emir reviewed with the British Prime Minister bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of developing them in various fields, especially in economic, trade and investment spheres to achieve common strategic interests.
They also discussed the latest developments in the region, especially the situation in Syria and the massacres perpetrated by the Syrian regime forces and their allies against innocent civilians in Aleppo, stressing also the need to put an immediate end to these massacres.
A number of issues of common interest, including the current situation in Libya, were also discussed during the meeting as the two sides stressed the importance of supporting the Presidential Council of the Government of National Reconciliation in order to achieve stability and promote security in Libya.
The meeting was attended by HH the Personal Representative of HH the Emir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani along with Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Emir.
