The Qatari Embassy in the United Kingdom has signed a five-year sponsorship for the British Red Cross Annual Charity Lecture, held at Cambridge University.

 

The British Red Cross provides help to people in crisis, both in the UK and overseas. The Red Cross is committed to helping people without discrimination, regardless of their ethnic origin, nationality, political beliefs or religion. The British Red Cross hosts annual charity lectures addressing a wide-range of academic and humanitarian topics, past discussions have included earthquakes and pharmaceutical medicine.

His Excellency Yousef Ali Al-Khater, the Ambassador of Qatar to the UK, said of the agreement: “The Embassy of Qatar in London is proud to support the British Red Cross, an institution dedicated to international human rights. These lectures provide an opportunity to engage in interesting academic discussions, on global topics that require open dialogue. We look forward to attending and supporting these events.”

The Qatari Embassy in London has undertaken several public diplomacy initiatives, spanning education, cultural and humanitarian causes.
