Somerville College at Oxford University hosted a ceremony for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Qatar Development Fund (QDF) and the Margaret Thatcher Scholarship Trust (MTST).

The £3m donation from the QDF will provide at least four additional scholarships, to be known as the Qatar Thatcher Scholarships, for students at Somerville.

Oxford University Chancellor the Rt Hon the Lord Patten of Barnes opened the signing ceremony in the presence of His Excellency the Qatari Ambassador to the UK, Director General of the QDF Khalifa Jassim Al-Kuwari, and Lord Powell of Bayswater.
