All documents submitted to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in London have to go through the appropriate procedures before they can be legalised by the embassy.

Any document that does not meet the specific requirements set out will be denied by the state of Qatar Embassy.

 

 

Personal Documents

All documents issued in the UK have to be stamped with the apostille of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) legalisation department.

It is your responsibility to check with the FCO or foreign affairs offices as to what the necessary procedures required by them are in order to get your documents processed and apostilled.

Disclaimer

The Embassy of the State of Qatar has no authority within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office or other foreign offices and therefore has no control over the processes or procedures for document legalisations in the FCO.

Each document must be certified and apostilled individually.  Documents certified or apostilled in a bundle will not be accepted by the Embassy legalisation department. 

 

Educational Documents

All documents issued in the UK have to be stamped with the apostille of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) legalisation department.

It is your responsibility to check with the FCO or foreign affairs offices as to what the necessary procedures required by them are in order to get your documents processed and apostilled.

Educational Documents Include

  • Post-Graduate Degree
  • Higher Education Degree
  • College Certificates or Diploma
  • Further Education including A-Level, BTECH, NVQ, HNC, HND, Level 1-3
  • Secondary Education include GCSE
  • Primary School Certificate – per child

All Higher Education and Further Education certificates submitted must be supported by a covering letter and an academic transcript. 

Covering letter

All educational certificates submitted must be supported by a covering letter issued by the educational provider confirming all of the following information:

  • location of studies
  • location of examinations
  • start and end dates of studies
  • the mode of studies – full-time or part-time
  • the format of studies – distance learning (E-learning) or face to face (on-site learning)

Academic transcript

All educational certificates submitted must be supported by an academic transcript or academic record that lists

  • all the modules or subjects you studied in each year
  • the marks or grades you achieved for each module
  • the credit value and level of each module.

It should be stamped or signed by the registry of your previous institution and be on official letter-headed paper. If you do not have an academic transcript you will need to contact your previous institution to request one.

All documents listed above must be individually certified and apostilled by the FCO or other foreign affairs offices prior to submitting it for legalisation at the Embassy of the State of Qatar consular legalisation department in London.

Disclaimer

The Embassy of the State of Qatar does not recognise any educational certificate or document obtained via distance learning or online learning and therefore will not be accepted by the Embassy even if it certified and apostilled by the FCO or other foreign affairs offices.

Commercial Documents and Invoices

All original commercial documents, invoices, packing list, certificate and other documents must be submitted and addressed to the Embassy of the State of Qatar Legalisation Department in London through the;

  • Arab British Chamber of Commerce for commercial documents in the UK
  • Arab Irish Chamber of Commerce for commercial documents in the Republic of Ireland
  • For NorwayIceland and Ireland commercial documents must be certified and apostilled to the country’s foreign affairs office and then submitted to the Embassy of the State of Qatar Legalisation Department in London
  • For JerseyGuernsey and the Isle of Man, documents must be certified and apostilled by the Lieutenant Governor department and submitted to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in London

  • Certificates of Registration or Incorporation
  • Company Record of Achievement
  • Company Trade or Financial Reports
  • Memorandum and Articles of Association
  • Certificate of Goods Standing
  • Commercial Powers of Attorney
  • Assignment or Authorisation for Registering Trademarks and Patents
  • Assignment or Authorisation for the Purpose of Transferring or Selling Commercial Shares
  • An Undertaking Certificate
  • Goods and Commercial Product Health Certificate
  • Certificate of Free Sale
  • Certificate of Medical Product, Business, Veterinary, Radioactivity, Trade or Company Charity
  • Product Price

Submitting your Documents for Legalisation
 
 

  • Use our online registration form to select whether you are submitting commercial or non –commercial documents.

  • Then input the number of documents you are submitting for legalisation

  • At the check-out, you will be required to input your name, address and contact information

  • The tracking system will also provide you with the total payment required to process your application. Please note, that no payment is required at this stage

  • Once you have placed your order please print out the tracking reference document and attach it to your documents

  • Please attach an accompanying covering letter listing the documents being submitted and the reason for submitting the documents

Documents will not be legalised without the tracking reference document

Documents can only be submitted to the Embassy legalisation department after they have all been individually certified or apostilled by the FCO or Foreign Affairs offices.

Submitting your documents to the Embassy in London

In person

You can submit all your certified and apostilled documents in person at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in London. 

Please note, the legalization department has different opening hours to the main embassy.

Document submissions are only open on Monday and Wednesday between 10:00 am and 01:00 pm

By Post

Please ensure that all post is addressed to the Embassy of the State of Qatar Legalisation Department

All submitted documents must include a pre-paid self-addressed envelope in order to return your documents.

Submissions from outside the UK

Countries

Documents issued in the NorwayIceland and Ireland must be certified and apostilled from their ministry of foreign affairs and then submitted to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in London with the relevant fees. 


British Overseas Territories

Documents issued in the countries and islands belonging to British Overseas Territories including the Cayman Islands, Virgin Islands and Gibraltar must be certified and apostilled the governor of their territory and the FCO and then submitted to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in London with the relevant fees. 


British Territory Exceptions

Personal documents issued in JerseyGuernsey and the Isle of Man must be certified and apostilled the governor of their territory only and then submitted to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in London with the relevant fees. 

Processing Documents

Once we have received your documents, you will be informed as to when your documents will be ready for collection.

This service takes a minimum of 4 - 5 working days and there is no express service or special exceptions. 

Please note processing times may be longer during UK, Islamic and Qatar national holidays. 

The Embassy cannot give any update about the progress of your legalisation by phone.
